CNC chip removal fan

This fan removes chips from the working area of a CNC machine. It can be used in a programmed table-cleaning cycle. Folding blades make storage in the tool magazine easier.

Contents of the selected type: “Complete CNC chip fan” is the complete fan with its body and fittings. “Kit: blades, springs, pins and screws” contains 4 blades, 4 springs, 4 pins and 4 screws, without the aluminum body. The parts kit is for repairing an existing fan.

1. Application

For cleaning the tables and working areas of CNC milling machines, precision engraving machines and drilling/tapping centres. Program a suitable path for the workpiece and table layout before use.

3. Folding blades

After use, the blades fold alongside the body so the fan fits in the tool magazine. The video below shows the complete fan in operation.

4. Working parameters

Adjust the speed and travel height to the height of the workpiece. The fan must not touch the workpiece or table. This range is a working recommendation, not a declared absolute maximum speed.

5. Programming the cleaning cycle

Program a suitable travel path in the machine program. Maintain clearance from the table and workpiece throughout the path, adjusting the height to the workpiece.

6. Mounting

The fan has a 16 mm shank. Select a holder for this diameter. The existing setup can use an ER32 holder with a 16 mm collet.

7. Safe working conditions

Close the machine enclosure doors before starting.
Do not open the doors while the fan is operating.
Maintain a travel height that prevents contact with the table and workpiece.
