Product description

MCMNN external turning holder for CNMG inserts

MCMNN indexable holder for external turning, using CNMG inserts. Clamping: top insert clamp. The final letter R, L or N in the five-letter holder designation identifies its hand.

Shank size, holder length and insert seat size are separate parameters. Read the selected variant designation before choosing an insert; shank width alone does not determine compatibility.

Application

For machining external workpiece surfaces on a lathe. Select R or L according to the required tool orientation; N identifies the neutral design. Choose the insert geometry, cutting grade and machining parameters for the operation and workpiece material.

Entering angle of this design: 40°.

The MCMNN-100 design is intended to work with the obtuse corner of a CNMG insert. The insert diamond has acute 80° and obtuse 100° corners; the -100 design uses the obtuse corner.

The size designation does not specify corner radius, grade or chipbreaker. Select these insert features separately while preserving compatibility with the seat geometry and dimensions.

Tool selection

Check the insert family, seat size, shank, holder length and R/L/N design together. Choosing an insert grade for steel, cast iron, aluminium or another material does not change the required fit between insert and holder seat.
