All variants in this listing have a 60Si2Mn spring steel body. The surface finish may be silver or brown depending on the selected model, as shown in its image. Black 42CrMo boring bars, high-speed steel HSS bodies and solid carbide VHM boring bars are offered separately.

1. What you are buying

The price is for one boring bar in the selected variant. The cutting insert is not included. Each code has its own shank diameter, overall length, minimum bore diameter, direction and insert family.

2. Applications

The boring bars are intended for internal turning. Depending on the selected family, different geometries and WNMG, TNMG, CNMG or WXGU inserts are used. Always read the information for a specific variant from its image and table.

3. Key selection data

Correct selection requires the shank diameter, overall length, minimum bore diameter, direction and insert designation. The minimum bore diameter is a limit for the specific geometry and must not be replaced by the shank diameter alone.

The first number in the designation indicates the shank diameter, the letter immediately after it describes the length class, and the middle segment specifies the clamping system, geometry and direction. The final digits indicate the insert size family. Read the exact length and Dmin from the table, because the letter code alone does not provide these values in millimeters.

6. Body material

The bodies in this listing are made of 60Si2Mn spring steel. Depending on the model, they have a silver or brown finish. The 60Si2Mn material must not be equated with black 42CrMo alloy steel, high-speed steel HSS or solid carbide VHM.

7. Inserts and scope of supply

The compatible insert family is specified separately for each variant. One boring bar is supplied; select and order the cutting insert separately. The right-hand or left-hand direction is indicated in the designation and table.
