  • 39.5°, 40.5° - resistant to vibrations

Coating:

ZrN

Application:

Milling cutters ideal for machining non-ferrous metals such as:

Aluminum

(including harder varieties),

Copper

,

Titan

.

They are also suitable for applications requiring:

High wear resistance,

Resistance to high temperatures (up to approx. 700°C),

Elimination of material sticking

(e.g. when processing mild steel).

Advantages of the ZrN coating:

Extended tool life thanks to reduced friction,

Effective protection against heating under standard conditions,

Optimum performance at high cutting speeds

Prevents sticking of soft materials (e.g. low-carbon steel),

Recommended working conditions:

Good cooling/lubrication,

Materials of low/moderate hardness.

Technical Note:

The ZrN coating may not be sufficient in

extreme conditions

, such as processing:

Hard alloys

Inconel (e.g. Inconel 718)

,

316 stainless steel,

Where very high temperatures are generated (above 700°C).

In such cases, we recommend tools with coatings

AlTiN

or

TiAlN

, which have thermal resistance up to

1000°C+

.
